This winter we have Orange & Cranberry Marmalade and a subtle Crab Apple Jelly available at food fairs and through some of the outlets we supply. This season's plum crop has been fantastic and the jam made with them is lovely - try our winter special Spiced Plum Jam; beautifully warming on toast, crumpet or warm scone. Alternatively our Gooseberry Jam offers a luxurious (Great Taste Award 2016) a reminder of summer fruits.
The apple harvest has brought a particularly sweet crop this year and we've already used some along with mint from our garden to make Apple & Mint Jelly - delightful with cold meats or roast pork. Try our Landlord's Chutney - a 'winter vegetable piccalilli' with plenty of texture; a superb companion to any pie or hearty Ploughman's - it features Brecon Brewing's Copper Beacons Ale which provides a hoppy tang!
All of these available from us at food festivals and some of the outlets we supply.
New for this year are Strawberry Gin Jam and Pink Grapefruit & Gin Marmalade. Both have been developed for the Ginhaus Deli in Llandeilo and use Burleigh's gorgeous London Dry Gin. We'll have them at the Shrewsbury Food Festival at the end of June.
Maintaining a slightly alcoholic theme, we have used the Welsh Whisky Company's famous Penderyn Sherry Wood Whisky in two marmalades - Whisky Orange and Whisky Mac, where a twist of ginger brings further bite to breakfast! The Whisky Orange is a Great Taste Award winner; the Whisky Mac has a World Marmalade Award and the pair are available seperately or as a Gift Pack at food festivals - do ask us to try them if you're a marmalade fan and plan to be at the Shrewsbury festival on the 24th or 25th of June.
Watch out for our Selection Box at Food Fairs: this features four of our preserves in the smaller jars - you select - an ideal gift attractively packaged and easy to post-on. See our Gift Box online - this will also be available at the Shrewsbury Festival.
